2.) The plans specify that they are a rough cut from 2-1/2 inch mahogany, and the router cuts each piece out.The material is too woody for a cnc router. So we would have to expand the plans. We wanted the best quality work for a minimum of effort, so that is why we went with the original design.

1.) We use a CNC router to cut the wood. The original plans were drawn on a computer. But this has been reduced to a 'raw' drawing because to do it large scale would be too expensive, and we were unable to find the software that would create the drawings. The original is available.

Thanks for the message. I have looked at the plans and am quite impressed. I have no experience with machine tools, but I have done a bit of wood working and I have a CNC Router with a milling, slotting, and drilling machine. I do a lot of wood carving, which has been my specialty for the last 5 years. I think that I could build this if it were a bit simpler. I have a problem with the way that the wheels are connected to the main structure. When you rotate the axis, I do not think that the wheels will turn. Will this work with a smoother joint that does not lock the wheels to the axle? I would be willing to build an inexpensive version, if it is not a difficult build. I would just like to make sure that the mechanism would work well. Keith
